Mirko Magni

Mirko Magni is researcher at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at University of Milan.

His research activity, characterized by a high multidisciplinarity, is aimed at the environmental sustainability, through the study of new materials, processes and energy technologies.

The main topics addressed over the years are: regenerative and synthetic photoelectrochemical systems; semiconducting chiral organic molecular materials (for sensors and spintronics); reuse of industrial waste and development of processes for recovering waste and end-of-life products (including the development of polymeric materials from biomass in the agri-food sector and a process for recycling lithium ion batteries); materials and processes for the treatment of wastewater containing organic pollutants and/or heavy metal ions.
